About us

Khula Bursary Company was established in 2019 as a need to assist students from Limited Services Areas with education opportunities through Bursary Support. Since Inception in 2019, 100 Students have been assisted through our Education and Socio Economic Development Projects. Implementing sustainable initiatives to redress the inequalities, access to economic privileges, and unlock contribution to the economy, has become a passion to the Khula Bursary Company Team.

The founders of Khula Bursary Company since day one walked and are still walking the journey of transforming our country through partnerships with Higher Education Institutions. We assist Tertiary education students from disadvantaged communities with Food, Books, Tuition Fees, and travel. We prepare and support students for Tertiary education to close the Gap on students dropping out due to Financial constraints and been underprepared.

Students with Historic Debt:

Khula Bursary Company works hand-in-hand with universities to assist with “Historic Debt”

We have assisted  students from challenging environments with limited access to assistance of funding. With our contributions the students  are able to pay in order to receive the academic papers and continue with a career or study path.

During the financial year of 2020 to 2021, twenty-three students, qualified and received full financial support to resolve their debt issue in order to receive their academic papers.

Khula Bursary Company and The Department of Development Studies at the Nelson Mandela University is positioned to assist with sustainable socio-economic development in Sub-Saharan Africa. 

Together we have a number of strategic alliances with regional and international universities and development organizations. Khula Bursary Company aim is to help the Department through funding on the hosting of national and international, multi-partner research and development projects. Through a collaborative approach the aim/vision is to establish a world-class facility for advanced and innovative work in development.
